Customer Care » Frequently Asked Questions » About International Toll-Free Service (ITFS)

Q: Why do I need ITFS?
A: With our ITFS, you will be able to gain global presence by extending your reach to customers all over the world. International Toll Free Service (ITFS) is a convenient feature for those who travel or reside outside the United States. ITFS allows subscribers to use their Excel account in most of the major countries. For a list of countries please check the ITFS access page.
Q: Do you offer ITFS service from any country in the world?
A: No, International Toll-Free (ITFS) is available in only certain countries. The ITFS phone number uses the originating country's national numbering format, which means the toll-free number will vary by country. For a list of countries where we provide ITFS service please check the ITFS access page.
Q: Do you charge monthly fee for using ITFS service?
A:Yes, one time registration fee and monthly charge are applicable for every Excel ITFS or UIFN number.
Q: I do not wish to maintain 24 hours operation. What features does ITFS has to solve this problem?
A: Excel ITFS Advanced Features are able to help manage your calls more efficiently. Time and Day routing will solve the problem of maintaining a 24 hour operation by simply routing calls to another location or number after office hours or during the weekends.
Q: Would I be able to retain my number if I shift my office?
A: You would be able to retain your number even when you shift your office to another country.
Q: What's the difference between International Toll Free Service (ITFS) and Universal International Freephone Number (UIFN)?
A: IFTS is a number unique to the country of call origination. UIFN assigns one number that works from several different countries. It provides additional toll-free service and is an international origination access option. ITFS is more widely available than UIFN.
Q: May I switch from ITFS to UIFN?
A: Yes, assuming UIFN is available and you are using ITFS between 2 or more countries.
Q: What are some of the respective advantages ITFS and UIFN?
A: For many cases, UIFN allows you to mirror your domestic vanity number, thereby extending your branding internationally. ITFS uses the same national numbering plan of each country, so your existing international customers are familiar with those toll free numbers.
Q: Can ITFS or UIFN be used for U.S./Canadian calling?
A: No. Canada is included in the Domestic Long Distance offering and therefore is not considered a part of the international offering. Your domestic toll-free number (8XX) XXX-XXXX) can allow Canadian calls.
Q: How do I make an UIFN call?

A: UIFN calls can only be made from phones with IDD facility. To make a UIFN call, the caller will need to dial the following number format: IAC-800-XXXX-XXXX

Note: IAC is the International Access Code of the country where the caller is calling from.
Q: Can I apply more than one International Toll-Free Service Number for Inbound ITFS?
A: Yes. For International Toll-Free Service, you can apply as many ITFS numbers per country as you wish. (For example, one International Toll-Free number to be connected to a telephone line, and another International Toll-Free \ number to be connected to a fax number.) However, for UIFN, you can only apply only one UIFN number per company.
